Overview

CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of subdural hematoma. Findings on CT scan diagnostic of subdural hematoma includes crescent shape hyperintense hematoma , which starts to become isointense in comparison to brain gray matter as it ages. It may cross falx cerebri and cause midline shift.

  • Hyperintense in comparison to gray matter
  • Crescent shape
  • As the hematoma ages, it starts to become isointense in comparison to brain gray matter
  • It may cross falx cerebri
  • It may cause midline shift
