Preserved using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), this fixed trichrome-stained specimen of a liver tissue aspirate revealed a parasitic Entamoeba histolytica trophozoite. Note the prominent single round nucleus with its diffuse, centrally-placed karyosome, and peripherally-situated chromatin.
