Edward A. Stehlik Sr., M.D., M.A.C.P, is an Internal Medicine specialist practicing at Northtowns Medical Group, PC where he is a founder and managing partner of the group. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Kenmore Mercy Hospital since 1990, making him the longest-tenured physician holding that position in Western New York. Elected as Governor of the Upstate New York Branch of the American College of Physicians (ACP), Dr. Stehlik completed his four year term on the ACP’s Board of Governors in 2010 and served as President of the New York Chapter of the ACP – the largest chapter in the world with over 10,000 members - from 2009-2010. In 2010 he was selected to be a Master of the American College of Physicians, making him the 6th Internist in Western New York to be recognized as a Master by the ACP since the organization’s founding in 1915, and the first one practicing in the Kenmore, Tonawanda and Niagara County areas of western New York.

Also serving as Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo's School of Medicine, Dr. Stehlik has been recognized with several honors, including the Seigel Award for Excellence in Medical Education and the Norman Chassin Award for Excellence in Internal Medicine. He received Kenmore Mercy’s “Tribute to Angels {[1]honor (jointly with his wife), the New York ACP’s “Laureate Award” and the ACP’s “Top 10 Key Contact Award”. His peers have selected him as one of the “Best Doctors in America” since 2003 ([2]). Buffalo Spree Magazine has listed him in their “Top 100 Doctors in Western New York” regularly since 2006. He did medical school training at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and his residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He was selected to be the Chief Teaching Fellow of the Department of Medicine the year after completing his residency, before starting his private medical practice. Dr. Stehlik is Board Certified in his specialty of Internal Medicine, is a member of many professional societies and associations, and serves on numerous local Boards and Committees.
