Demeton-S-methyl is a chemical molecule with the molecular formula C6H15O3PS2. It is used as an acaricide and insecticide; more specifically it is an organothiophosphate acaricide and an aliphatic organothiophosphate insecticide, respectively. Its IUPAC name is S-2-ethylthioethyl O,O-dimethyl phosphorothioate and its CAS name is S-[2-(ethylthio)ethyl] O,O-dimethyl phosphorothioate. It is flammable and poisonous to humans.
